    The Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) Teshie Nungua vibrated with spiritual energy and high expectations on Sunday as it officially launched its annual Pentecost Men’s Ministry (PEMEM) Week celebration.

    ​The week-long event, running under the banner “PEMEM Week ’26,” brought together hundreds of congregants, all clad in distinctive blue and gold patterned ministry uniforms. The launch service set a profound tone for the week, focusing on empowering men to take up proactive leadership roles in their families, churches, and communities.

     

    ​Delivering the keynote sermon, Chief of Staff Dr. Julius Debrah urged the men in attendance to look inward and rise above contemporary societal challenges.

    ​”True leadership begins when a man aligns his vision with divine purpose,” Dr. Debrah noted during an impassioned address from the pulpit. “We are living in times that demand steadfastness, integrity, and a willingness to break barriers for the sake of the next generation.”

    ​The Power of Seed-Sowing and Divine Timing

    ​In a deeply personal and moving segment of his message, Dr. Debrah challenged the congregation to move beyond passive belief and actively exercise their faith through symbolic actions like sowing seeds. He emphasized that establishing unwavering faith in God yields perfect results at the right time, often unfolding in ways that completely astound human understanding.

    ​To ground his message, the Chief of Staff opened up about a dark period in his own life when everything seemed to be falling apart simultaneously. He recounted facing severe, overlapping business and family crises where absolutely no hope or solution was in sight.

    ​”At that point in my life, everything hit at once—business issues, family issues, and there was simply no light at the end of the tunnel,” Dr. Debrah shared with transparent vulnerability. “But when you hold onto faith and commit the situation to intense prayers, God moves. The solution came from a place I completely didn’t expect, proving that His timing is always perfect.”

    ​He exhorted the men to see their present trials not as endpoints, but as a testing ground where a single seed of faith can yield wonders that defy human logic.

    ​Speaking to reporters after the service, several members expressed their enthusiasm and shared how the launch message impacted them.

    ​Elder Kwesi Mensah, a long-time member of the district, emphasized the timely nature of the event: “Having the Chief of Staff, Dr. Julius Debrah, share his raw personal testimony about overcoming business and family hurdles was incredibly powerful. It reminds us that no leader is immune to trials, and it provides a real blueprint for how we ought to carry ourselves through faith.”

    ​Brother Emmanuel Boateng, a youth representative, highlighted the cross-generational appeal of the ministry: “As young men trying to build careers and families, hearing a seasoned leader like the Chief of Staff talk about having no hope and then experiencing an unexpected breakthrough gives us immense confidence. It reminds us that leadership and faith go hand in hand.”

    ​Deaconess Ama Serwaa, who attended the launch in solidarity with the men’s ministry, shared her perspective on the community impact: “When our men learn to sow seeds of faith and trust God’s perfect timing, the entire family thrives. The atmosphere today shows that PIWC Teshie Nungua is ready to support its men in making a real difference.”

    ​A Week of Impact Ahead

    ​The leadership of PEMEM Teshie Nungua has lined up a series of activities for the rest of the week, including health screenings, leadership seminars, and community outreach programs, culminating in a thanksgiving service next Sunday.

    ​Organizers expect that by the close of the week, participants will not only be spiritually refreshed but also equipped with practical tools to navigate the economic and social complexities of 2026.

    ​The Chief of Staff, Hon. Julius Debrah, has urged fathers and male guardians to move beyond providing only financial support for their families and actively invest in the moral and spiritual upbringing of their children.

    ​Delivering a special Father’s Day sermon today at his local church, the Pentecostal International Worship Center (PIWC) at Trasacco, Hon. Debrah emphasized that the rapid transformation of society requires deliberate parenting, anchored on strong godly principles.

    ​Speaking on the theme “The Role of the Modern Christian Father,” the Chief of Staff noted that while economic provision is vital, the emotional and spiritual availability of a father is what ultimately shapes a child’s destiny.

    ​”A father’s success should not only be measured by the size of his bank account or the roof over his family’s head,” Hon. Debrah told the packed congregation. “The greatest legacy a man can leave behind is a generation of children who fear God, respect humanity, and possess the integrity to lead tomorrow.”

     

    Leading by Example

    ​Drawing references from the scriptures, Hon. Debrah cautioned that the societal decay often witnessed today can frequently be traced back to the breakdown of the family structure and the absence of strong male role models. He challenged fathers to be mirrors of the virtues they wish to see in their children.

    ​”Children do not just do what we tell them; they do what they see us do,” he stated. “If we want a disciplined society, we must first model discipline in our homes. We cannot expect our society to be honest if we do not practice honesty before our wives and children.”

    ​A Call for Prayers

    ​The Chief of Staff also used the opportunity to pay tribute to single mothers who are performing dual roles due to various life circumstances, while calling on the church to support young men with mentorship programs.

    ​He concluded by asking the congregation to constantly pray for fathers, noting that the pressures of the modern world can often be overwhelming for the heads of households.

    ​”Fathers face immense silent battles. As we celebrate them today, let us also commit to lifting them up in prayer, so they receive the wisdom and strength from above to lead their families aright,” he added.

    ​The Resident Pastor of PIWC Trasacco expressed gratitude to the Chief of Staff for his insightful message and led the congregation in a special session of prayer for all men present, crowning the service with a celebratory presentation of gifts to the fathers.
