Senior executives and board members of the international microfinance network Advans Group, alongside leadership from Advans Ghana Savings and Loans Ltd., have paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Dr. Johnson P. Asiama, to reaffirm their commitment to responsible finance, regulatory compliance, and expanding financial inclusion in the country.
The high-level engagement formed part of the Advans Group Board Week 2026, bringing together group executives and directors from international operations across Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, and Tunisia.
During the meeting, the delegation commended the Bank of Ghana for its regulatory reforms aimed at strengthening the country’s financial system. In response, the central bank governor and his team praised Advans Ghana for its operational standards, recognizing it as one of the leading and best-performing savings and loans companies operating in the country.
Discussions focused on industry developments, regulatory priorities, the role of specialized deposit-taking institutions in expanding access to finance, and the Bank of Ghana’s liquidity framework.
Highlighting the essence of close collaboration, Dr. Johnson P. Asiama emphasized that effective engagement between regulators and financial institutions remains vital for maintaining overall financial stability while ensuring broader access to credit and banking services.
Steven Duchatelle, Chief Executive Officer of Advans International, noted that the high-level meeting underscores the group’s policy of fostering constructive dialogue with central banks across its footprint.
“Our engagement with the Bank of Ghana reflects our commitment to responsible finance, sound governance and sustainable growth,” Duchatelle said. “We value the opportunity to exchange perspectives on developments in the financial sector and reaffirm our support for expanding access to appropriate financial services.”
Guillaume Valence, Managing Director of Advans Ghana Savings and Loans Ltd., assured the regulator that the institution will maintain strong governance and support tailored financial solutions for local businesses.
“A strong relationship with the regulator is essential to sustainable growth,” Valence stated. “We remain committed to responsible lending, sound risk management and expanding access to finance for individuals and businesses, while contributing to the stability and development of Ghana’s financial sector.”
