The Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) on Friday, February 6, 2026, observed a day of thanksgiving and celebration to mark the one-year anniversary of Dr. Edward Ato Sarpong as Managing Director of ADB PLC.

Management and staff expressed heartfelt gratitude to God for the turnaround in ADB’s performance under Dr. Sarpong’s leadership. They commended his vision and dedication, noting that his stewardship has positioned the bank to achieve its new strategic goal of becoming one of the top three banks in Ghana.

“We thank God for you, Sir, and pray that the good Lord continues to grant you good health as you lead ADB towards achieving our new strategic vision of becoming one of the top three banks in Ghana, globally admired for our people, processes, and performance,” the staff message read.

Adding his voice, Mohammed Ali, Head of Marketing & Communications, lauded Dr. Sarpong’s humility and inclusive leadership style. He described the Managing Director as a leader who listens, motivates, and inspires confidence among employees. Ali urged colleagues to continue supporting Dr. Sarpong, emphasizing that collective effort will be key to realizing ADB’s ambitious vision.

The celebration was marked with joy and appreciation, as employees reflected on the progress made over the past year. The bank’s renewed focus on excellence and innovation continues to be encapsulated in its mantra.

Dr. Sarpong’s anniversary comes at a time when ADB is repositioning itself to strengthen its role in Ghana’s financial sector, with emphasis on agricultural financing and broader economic development.
