The Agricultural Development Bank PLC (ADB) has held an interdenominational Thanksgiving Service at its Head Office in Accra, bringing together Management, Staff, and invited Clergy to express gratitude to God for a successful 2025 and to also seek His (God’s) grace in 2026.

The Christian Thanksgiving Service was held in the morning on the 4th Floor of ADB’s Head Office in Accra, bringing together management and staff in an atmosphere of praise, worship, and reflection. The service was officiated by Bishop James Saah, who charged staff to remain grateful, resilient, and purposeful in the discharge of their duties.

The afternoon session saw management in fellowship with congregants at the Police Mosque, Cantonments, where prayers were said for the Bank’s leadership, staff, customers, shareholders, and all other stakeholders, for sustained peace and success.

In his remarks, the Managing Director of ADB, Edward Ato Sarpong noted that the thanksgiving was a way of expressing profound gratitude to God for how far He’s brought us over the year 2025. “I have been with the Bank for a year now as the Managing Director, and I can say that good Lord has been merciful to us over the year. We have been able to overcome challenges, and ADB is now on the path of growth and prosperity,” he said.

“Our performance for the period reflects ADB’s deliberate efforts over the past 9 months to stabilize our operations, strengthen our balance sheet, enhance profitability, and deliver long-term value to our diverse stakeholders while continuing to support key sectors of the economy, particularly agriculture. We are on course, on our 3 and half-year strategy, to deliver sustainable value and growth for everyone,” Mr. Sarpong added.

He further stated that, having witnessed this significant turnaround of fortunes through discipline and diligence, there was the need to give thanks to the Almighty God for His guidance in 2025 and also seek His grace as we take a giant step towards achieving our strategic vision.

“This success could not have happened without the unwavering support and commitment of staff, and I wish to express our profound gratitude to them for their respective contributions in moving the Bank forward. I believe that together we will achieve greater heights,” the ADB MD said.

The Thanksgiving Services provided an opportunity for staff and Management to reflect on the Bank’s progress and to recommit themselves to the course of ADB.

ADB published a strong financial performance for the third quarter of 2025, with profit before tax hitting GH¢447.49million, representing 153.66% growth compared to GH¢176.41million recorded during the same period in 2024. The Bank also demonstrated strong liquidity, recording a liquid ratio of 130% in 2025 Q3, well above the regulatory threshold.

The Bank’s total assets grew by 17%, rising from GH¢13.87billion in September 2024 to GH¢16.22billion as of September 2025, reflecting continued balance sheet expansion driven by robust growth in investment securities and deposits. Also, net investment securities rose significantly to GH¢6.45billion from GH¢4.71billion in the same period last year.

All other performance indicators also witnessed a significant upward trend in the third quarter of 2025. In line with regulatory requirements, the bank will publish its 2025 end-of-year financials within the first quarter this year. The Bank is in pursuit of its strategic vision of becoming one of the top 3 banks in Ghana, globally admired for its people, processes, and performance.
