National Executive Committee (NEC) Member aspirant Adnan M. Kofi Adams has extended his warm congratulations to all candidates who contested in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) constituency elections, urging party faithful across the country to maintain absolute calm and prioritize post-election reconciliation.

Speaking following the conclusion of the nationwide internal polls, Mr. Kofi Adams emphasized that while securing electoral victory is an important milestone in political organization, effective and enduring leadership requires vision, humility, and a commitment to service that extends far beyond winning a ballot.

Victory as a Foundation, Not the Destination

Addressing delegates, winning candidates, and unsuccessful contestants, the NEC Member aspirant cautioned against post-election divisions, reminding members that internal democratic contests are designed to fortify the party rather than fragment it.

“Electoral victory is merely a first step in political leadership, but true leadership goes far beyond electoral victory,” Mr. Adams stated. “Winning a constituency contest does not make anyone superior to their fellow party comrades, nor does losing mean one’s role in our shared vision has ended. The election is simply the mechanism to assemble our team it is not the final objective.”

He urged newly elected constituency executives to view their mandate as an opportunity to serve the grassroots rather than an accolade for personal triumph.

A Call for Immediate Reconciliation and Calm

Acknowledging the high stakes and passion that often characterize local political campaigns, Mr. Adams called on all branches and constituency executives to immediately commence healing processes to mend any internal friction created during the race.

“I urge all winner and non-winner candidates alike to maintain total calm and work together as one united family,” he said. “To those who emerged victorious: reach out to your brothers and sisters who contested against you. Bring them into the fold, embrace their perspectives, and leverage their talents. To those who were not declared winners: your dedication remains vital to our collective success. True leadership is defined not just by how we handle victory, but by how steadfastly we support the cause after the contest.”

Mobilizing the Grassroots for the Future

Mr. Adams praised the party leadership, electoral committees, and delegates for demonstrating democratic maturity throughout the voting process, reinforcing that the core strength of the NDC lies within its vibrant grassroots base.

“The internal democratic process we have just witnessed reflects the deep resilience and unity of our party,” Mr. Adams added. “Now that the ballots have been counted, the true work of leadership begins. We must channel this energy into consolidating our grassroots structures, engaging our communities, and building an inclusive front capable of delivering the leadership Ghana needs.”

As constituency executives step into their new roles, Mr. Adams urged all party organs to close ranks, resolve differences, and focus on building a cohesive organization from the local level up
