Grassroots executives and party loyalists of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Central Region have mounted a strong campaign advocating for the retention of incumbent Regional Chairman, Dr. Nana Richard Kofi Asiedu, emphasizing that political stability and proven leadership are crucial for the party’s continued strength.
Speaking at a delegates’ forum in Cape Coast, party organizers highlighted Dr. Asiedu’s track record in organizational coordination, unity-building, and continuous engagement with local constituency branches.
“Progress requires leaders who understand the people, know the work, and are ready to take responsibility when it matters most,” a spokesperson for the local executives stated during the briefing. “Chairman Dr. Nana Asiedu Richard brings experience, commitment, and a clear understanding of party organization. His leadership is centered on unity, grassroots engagement, effective coordination, and building a stronger party structure.”
Supporters argue that maintaining experienced leadership at the helm is essential for preserving party cohesion across the region’s constituencies as upcoming electoral cycles approach.
“The journey ahead calls for continuity, stability, and purposeful leadership qualities that can help strengthen the party at every level across the Central Region,” noted a senior constituency delegate present at the event. “Experience matters, commitment matters, and continuity matters.”
Responding to the endorsements, Dr. Asiedu expressed his gratitude to the regional delegates and reaffirmed his commitment to deepening party organization, ensuring effective mobilization, and keeping the NDC anchored at the grassroots level across the Central Region.
