YEA Boss Hands Over Vocational Startup Kits and Sets Operational Goals During Interactive Staff Engagement in Kumasi

The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has stepped up its drive to boost youth entrepreneurship and operational performance in the Ashanti Region following a comprehensive working visit led by Chief Executive Officer Mr. Malik Basintale and his deputy.

The executive visit combined direct policy engagement with field staff and the official release of vital startup equipment designated for young artisans across the region.

Addressing officers during the session, Mr. Basintale outlined the strategic direction of the Agency, emphasizing management’s resolve to streamline service delivery across all districts.

“Management remains fully committed to enhancing professionalism, boosting operational efficiency, and prioritizing staff welfare to ensure our programs achieve maximum impact on the ground,” stated Mr. Basintale. “Our field staff are the backbone of this Agency, and we must align our collective efforts to serve Ghana’s youth effectively.”

Following the internal engagement, the CEO presided over the official handover of startup packages to regional administrators. The items are slated for onward distribution through district offices to graduates of the YEA Skills Training Module, enabling them to establish self-sustaining enterprises.

As part of the regional assessment, the delegation conducted an inspection of UNIJAY Fashion, a premier master craft partner in the region that has trained more than 200 young people under the Agency’s vocational initiative.

Observing trainees actively utilizing industrial equipment, Mr. Basintale expressed satisfaction with the quality of practical instruction and the tangible life outcomes delivered by the module.

“Seeing these young men and women acquire practical, market-ready skills confirms that our vocational models are producing real results,” Mr. Basintale noted during his interaction with trainers and apprentices. “YEA will not relent in its core mission of empowering young people, reducing unemployment, and promoting sustainable entrepreneurship to accelerate Ghana’s socio-economic development.”

The distributed startup toolkits are expected to reach beneficiaries across all districts in the Ashanti Region over the coming weeks, helping transition young artisans from training environments into active self-employment.
