Sexually transmitted infections are infection spread through sexual activity including anal and oral sex.

Did you know more than 1 million sexually transmitted infections are acquired everyday. Yes it as estimated by the World Health Organization (WHO).

A virus know as the human papilloma virus is associated with 311000 cervical cancer death each year.

Did you know it is very difficult to differentiate between urinary tract infections and sexually transmitted infections.

Most of the presenting symptoms are the same.

Let’s talk about the signs and symptoms

It normally varies depending on the infection but it includes rashes, swollen, burning sensation, itchiness around the vulva.

Difficulty urinating and discharges

Untreated STI in women is very dangerous it can affect the reproductive system (uterus, fallopian tube)

Prevention of STI

The safest is to use condoms during sexual activities.

Vaccination: Get hepatitis B and human papilloma virus to prevent cervical cancer and hepatitis infections.
