Ecobank, the leading pan-African banking group, has been recognised with multiple prestigious international awards in 2025, marking a standout year for the Group as it also celebrates its 40th anniversary.

The breadth of recognition across trade finance, SME banking, digital innovation, cash management, capital markets, and institutional excellence underscores Ecobank’s position as Africa’s bank of choice and reflects the strength of a pan-African platform built over four decades.

In a milestone year that reflects both legacy and momentum, Ecobank received top honours from leading financial services platforms including Global Finance, Euromoney, African Banker, All Africa Business Leaders Awards (AABLA) and other respected opinion formers, including:

    ● All African Business Leaders Awards (AABLA) – Company of the Year

These accolades recognise Ecobank’s ability to connect markets, unlock trade, and deliver integrated financial solutions at scale across Africa.

They reflect the Group’s leadership in trade finance and transaction banking, its market-leading support for SMEs and women-led enterprises, and its continued investment in digital platforms that expand access to finance and improve efficiency for businesses and consumers alike. The awards also acknowledge Ecobank’s innovation in capital markets, including the structuring of landmark sustainability-linked instruments that support Africa’s transition toward more resilient and inclusive growth.

Complementing the Group-level recognition, several Ecobank affiliates were recognised for performance in their respective markets.:

    ● Global Finance: Best SME Bank in Ghana, Best Trade Finance Provider in Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire and Rwanda, Best Bank in Gambia and Togo,

    ● The Banker “Bank of the Year 2025”: Ecobank Cameroon, Ecobank Equatorial Guinea, Ecobank Gabon, Ecobank Gambia, Ecobank Guinea, and Ecobank Togo.

These national awards highlight the strength of Ecobank’s local franchises and the Group’s ability to deliver consistent excellence across diverse markets, combining global standards with deep local insight.

Together, the awards reflect Ecobank’s distinctive role in powering intra-African trade, financing development, advancing financial inclusion, and supporting entrepreneurs and SMEs across the continent core pillars that have defined the Group since its founding and continue to guide its future.

According to Jeremy Awori, Group Chief Executive Officer of Ecobank, “These awards are a powerful endorsement of our pan-African model and the progress we are making under our Growth, Transformation and Returns strategy. Receiving this recognition in our 40th anniversary year makes it especially meaningful.”
