Land surveyor Alex Aborge (Dzata) has been elected Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Awutu Senya East Constituency, ushering in a new executive leadership with a firm pledge to unite party ranks and build grassroots resilience ahead of upcoming 2028 political contests.
The high-stakes election saw Aborge defeat acting Chairman Ousman to claim the top constituency seat. Joining him in the newly elected executive body are Michael Oteng Pabi as Constituency Secretary, Amamat Dauda as Women Organizer and Kamaldeen Abdallah as Youth Organiser among others.
A Call for Unity, Patience, and Reconciliation
In his acceptance address following the declaration of results, Chairman-elect Alex Aborge urged delegates, party activists, and former contenders to put behind campaign rivalries and work together under one umbrella.
“The election is over, and there are no winners or losers today only the National Democratic Congress has emerged victorious,” Mr. Aborge stated. “I appeal to every member across Awutu Senya East to exercise patience with the new executive team as we structure our work. Rebuilding our constituency base requires steady, deliberate steps, and unity is our non-negotiable foundation.”
He emphasized that internal contests are meant to strengthen party democracy rather than fracture local relationships.
Inclusivity and Open-Door Leadership
Addressing unsuccessful candidates and their supporters, Mr. Aborge assured party members that his administration would run an open-door policy where every contribution is valued.
“To my brothers and sisters who contested for various positions: your dedication and passion demonstrate the strength of our party in Kasoa and beyond,” he noted. “Our door remains wide open. We need your ideas, your energy, and your experience on board if we are to achieve our collective objectives for Awutu Senya East.”
Strengthening the Grassroots Core
Secretary-elect Michael Oteng Pabi echoed the Chairman’s sentiments, emphasizing that the incoming executive team will immediately prioritize branch-level reorganization and reconciliation.
“Our mandate begins with healing and mobilization,” Mr. Oteng Pabi said. “We are calling on all party faithful to remain calm, exercise patience, and channel their energy into consolidating our grassroots structures across all electoral areas.”
With the elections concluded, the new executive leadership is set to outline a roadmap for constituency engagement, focusing on party cohesion, grassroots mobilization, and robust community outreach throughout Awutu Senya East.
