ACCRA — The contest for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) leadership expanded on Wednesday as veteran journalist and party stalwarts Adnan Adams Mohammed officially submitted his declaration of intent to run for National Executive Committee (NEC) Member position.

The announcement, released in a formal memo to party leadership on October 21, 2026, marks the campaign launch of a seasoned communicator who has served across virtually every tier of the NDC’s organizational hierarchy from local branch executive to national media strategist.

“I write to formally announce my intention to contest for the position of National Executive Committee Member,” Adams declared. “My decision to step forward for this role is rooted in a lifelong dedication to the principles of Probity, Accountability, and Social Justice, coupled with a deep desire to serve at the highest administrative level.”

Highlighting his journey from Branch Secretary and Constituency Communications Officer to Co-Founder of the NDC Press Corps, Adams positioned his candidacy as a bridge between the party’s grassroots base and its highest decision-making body.

“Having worked from the branch level all the way to the national platform, I understand both the core operational needs of our grassroots members and the strategic imperative required at the national executive level,” he noted.

If elected to the NEC, Adams pledged to focus on three key operational areas: revitalizing party communications to counter political opposition, strengthening youth and cadre training networks, and opening direct communication lines between regional branches and national headquarters.

“Streamlining communication channels between national leadership and branch executives ensures our base is well-resourced, heard, and prioritized,” Adams stressed. “We must leverage professional media experience to proactively shape the public narrative and articulate our party’s policies clearly to the electorate.”

Closing his campaign launch statement, the veteran communicator called on delegates and party elders to back candidates with tested administrative experience as the party prepares its internal machinery for national governance.

“The NDC remains the hope of the Ghanaian people,” Adams affirmed. “To deliver on this promise, we need an executive body equipped with experience, operational depth, unwavering loyalty, and proven capacity to execute winning strategies.”
