The CEO of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), has paid a visit to the Sentuo Oil Refinery, applauding the company’s efforts in boosting Ghana’s energy sector.

The refinery, located in Tema, is a significant player in the country’s oil and gas industry, with a capacity of 200,000 barrels per day.

The visit aimed to assess the refinery’s operations and discuss ways to enhance collaboration. The NPA CEO commended Sentuo’s commitment to developing local refining capabilities, reducing Ghana’s reliance on imported petroleum products, and creating jobs.

Sentuo Oil Refinery is a joint venture between the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) and Sentuo Group, a Chinese conglomerate. The refinery’s expansion plans include increasing its capacity to 120,000 barrels per day, making it a crucial contributor to Ghana’s energy security.

The NPA CEO’s visit underscores the importance of local refining capacity in Ghana’s energy strategy. With the country’s growing energy demands, initiatives like Sentuo Oil Refinery are vital for reducing dependence on imports and promoting economic growth.
