Unemployment conditions in Ghana has been on steady rise since 2017 and is anticipated to continue along this trajectory in the medium term and beyond.

To assess how key housing characteristics impact the effects of monetary policy on activity, our research leverages new data on housing and mortgage markets compiled across countries: we find that those characteristics vary significantly across countries.

“This contributed to pursuing tight monetary policy, raising reserve ratios, and implementing a fiscal reform program that helped to reduce year- on-year inflation from 54 percent in December 2022 to 23 percent in December 2023”, the report launched in Accra, Ghana, last week posited.

GUTA and its members have been abusing the free market economy to increase prices, contributing significantly to the inflation we are now experiencing in Ghana.

IC Securities expects the exchange rate to rise to GH¢15.91/US$ by the end of 2024.

Apparently, the Central Bank MPC expects the disinflation process to continue, aiming for headline inflation to settle within the 13% to 17% range by the end of 2024.

The decline in maize prices was attributed to competitively priced offers from the Black Sea region, larger production in major exporters, and favorable prospects for the next harvest, with global maize production in the 2023-24 season expected to increase by 6.0% to an all-time high.

The Central Bank claimed that, the sustained reduction in inflation since August 2023 can be credited to the proactive efforts and measures it took to address hyper inflationary and restore macro-economic stability.

The figure means that the Month-on-month inflation between May 2022 and June  2022 stood at 3.0 percent.
