The Energy Commission of Ghana, at its maiden Board/Management staffs meeting, has tentatively targeted to open its first regional office in the first quarter of 2026.
This is to help the Commission deepens its reach and and improve on its customer services in line with objectives set out in Act 541.
The newly inaugurated Board of the Energy Commission led by its Chairman, Professor John Gartchie Gatsi, met staff of the Commission last week.
The engagement touched on areas of staff welfare and capacity building, asset management and financial soundness, maintaining corporate discipline and harmonious working environment, visibility for the Commission’s work, as well as challenges confronting the effective delivery of the its legal mandate under Act 541, and strategies to mitigate such difficulties.

Also, the board announced strategies to strengthening the legal department as a license and regulatory institution as well as a functioning inspectorate directorate.
The board received inputs from staff and later from the Union in a separate session with the Staff calling for fairness, transparency and audit of human resources of the Commission.
