As Ghana prepares to celebrate its independence, the Chief of Staff at the Presidency, Mr. Julius Debrah, is set to headline a high-profile “Unity Run” aimed at fostering national solidarity and patriotism.

The event, themed “As we run together in unity, strength and patriotism,” is designed to bring Ghanaians from all backgrounds together in a symbolic display of collective endurance.

    Event Details at a Glance

The Independence Day celebration will take a healthy turn with the following schedule:

Venue: The iconic University of Ghana (UG) Sports Stadium.

Time: Activities commence promptly at 6:00 AM.

Distance: Participants will cover a route ranging between 5 and 10 kilometers.

    More Than Just a Race

Organizers have emphasized that the initiative transcends simple physical exercise. The run is a strategic effort to encourage social cohesion, fitness, and national pride during a milestone period for the country.

With Mr. Julius Debrah leading the charge, the event is expected to attract hundreds of citizens, ranging from professional athletes to casual joggers and families. The atmosphere at the UG Stadium is anticipated to be one of celebration and shared purpose.

”As the sun rises over Accra, the message will be clear: Ghana moves forward best when her people run and stand together,” the organizers stated.

    A Symbol of National Strength

The choice of the newly renovated University of Ghana Sports Stadium highlights the government’s commitment to promoting sports infrastructure and healthy living. As Mr. Debrah takes to the track, the “Unity Run” stands as a reminder that the nation’s progress is tied to the physical and social well-being of its people.

Participants are encouraged to arrive early to join the warm-up sessions and be part of what is expected to be the largest Independence Day fitness gathering in the capital this year.
